Adding to the ever-growing list of bag support options is Tailwind Cyclery out of Bristol, England. Read on to find out more about this innovative fork crown mounted bag support…
Tailwind Cyclery, a small custom shop out of Bristol, England, has entered the bag rack/support space with a unique, crown-mounted option that truly piques interest. While there are a variety of designs similar to the thin, steel tubed support rack, few (if any) are mounted from the fork crown mount—a position that opens up a whole new world of possibilities for those with smaller head tubes, cramped cockpit space, or a lack of mounting options on the fork blade.
From the designer: “Designed to fit steel forks with a drilled crown, bags can be attached to support bar through webbing on either end, with the centre attached via a Voile nano strap or similar. [It] will work with steel forked disc brake bikes and most V Brakes. [It] will also be compatible with cantis designed around a higher cable hanger… a potential canti designed option may exist in the future.”
These fork crown mounted bars aren’t in production yet and will need to garner some interest in order to justify a production run, so let us know in the Conversation what you think, and head on over to Tailwind’s page to let them know you’re interested!
