Weighing less than three pounds and with enough room for three people, the new Tarptent Triple Rainbow DW is a three-season double-walled tent that’s packed full of handy features. Check it out here…
The new Tarptent Triple Rainbow DW is based on the design of the popular Double Rainbow DW tent, but it sleeps three and weighs less than a pound (0.46 kilograms) per person with a carbon arch pole. It’s a non-freestanding tent with a double-walled construction, full bug protection, two vestibules, and two doors finished with waterproof zippers. Due to its single arching pole and cross strut, it requires stakes at all four corners as well at each door.
The Triple Rainbow DW consists of a 20D double silicone coated polyester ripstop fly and 30D double silicone coated nylon floor. There are fly-to-arch connections for a fly-first setup, magnetic door ties, closable vents above each door, and the fly can be rolled back for stargazing or removed completely when not needed. There are interior pockets, clips, and the main arch pole comes in your choice of aluminum or carbon. Inside, there’s room for two long/wide sleeping pads plus one long/standard sleeping pad.
The tent is constructed in Seattle, Washington from Korea-sourced silicone-coated polyester and nylon fabric. All Tarptents are designed, hand checked, tested, and approved at their California office before being shipped to customers. The Triple Rainbow DW with the aluminum pole, carbon cross strut, six stakes, stake bag, and tent bag costs $499 USD. With the carbon pole, it costs $519 and weighs in at 1,345 grams (2.9 pounds).
