If you’re a bikepacker looking for new rubber, there’s a good chance you’ve come across Teravail’s growing lineup of condition-specific tires. A few of us have had the chance to test out both their plus-sized mountain bike and skinnier gravel tires over the last couple of years, and overall we’ve been impressed. Today, Teravail announced their new Kessel tire, filling in the all-mountain/enduro side of its lineup.
The Kessel is their most aggressive tire to date. Available in both 27.5″ and 29″ sizes, in standard black or a classic tan sidewall, with several different widths to choose from. There are two different compounds available; the standard 60TPI durable casing or their new Ultra-Durable casing which adds an additional 1/2 ply of 120TPI which increases “sidewall protection and extra puncture defense in the tread cap plus butyl inserts to further strengthen the sidewalls of the tire,” as Teravail puts it.
The new Teravail Kessel tire is available now from your local dealer or from Teravail.com.
