The Terra Artica GTX is a winter boot from Fizik that promises comfort and performance in cold weather. Featuring an insulating fleece lining, extended ankle closure, and waterproof GORE-TEX membrane, the Artica GTX seems like a good option for those who still take to the roads and trails in the colder months and need protection from the elements. The shoe has the same durable sole construction as some of the brand’s other models, which they say is great for anything from walking to hike-a-bike sections on rough terrain. Though we shared the release of the Artica back in 2022, Fizik recently launched a new color, Desert-Black.
The shoe is made of a high-density PU upper and ripstop fabric, features an L6 boa dial D-Fit system, an X5 nylon outsole with rubber treads, weighs 432 grams, and comes in sizes 36 to 48, with 37 to 47 having half sizes. Given its construction, Fizik claims the Terra Artica is fully waterproof, PFAS-free, and maintains a level of stiffness consistent with the rest of their clipless offerings.
Though it’s hard to see how the shoe is both waterproof and breathable, it’s nice to see a commitment to a less environmentally taxing construction that’s still practical in unforgiving weather. The Artica GTX is available in the new Desert-Black color, as well as Black-Black and Purple-Black, and it retails for $260.
