Anthill Films’ upcoming feature looks absolutely stunning. “The Engine Inside” tells the stories of six everyday people from all over the globe who reveal the bicycle’s unique power to change lives and build a better world. Watch the trailer here…

We typically save movie trailers for our Friday Debrief roundups, but when this press release landed in my inbox yesterday, I realized it was far too good to wait. I quickly remembered my mind being blown back in 2008 when I watched Seasons, one of Anthill’s first feature-length mountain bike films. The new documentary feature film The Engine Inside is a world away from Seasons and digs into the bicycle as a means of change.

The film follows six people and explores the bicycle’s impact on a wide range of global issues, such as physical and mental health, socio-economic inequality, and climate change. Instead of incredible footage featuring top-level mountain bikers, The Engine Inside highlights individuals who’ve embraced cycling as a way to overcome personal and systemic challenges. The film ultimately asks viewers to reconsider their own perspectives. “Is there a transformative power within us all that can be unlocked through the simple act of riding a bike?” Watch the trailer below:

“There are over two billion of them on the planet, and each one has a story to tell.”
