In 2018, Izzy Sederbaum survived a rare cougar attack that left him hospitalized with severe facial trauma, and hateful anti-trans rhetoric filled comment sections of news articles that he had little to no control over. Since the incident, he has struggled to spend time alone in the woods and has been overcome with self-doubt but has found solace and support in the Seattle cycling community, which reignited his passion for the sport. The Right to Joy follows Izzy’s journey as he pedals beyond his fears and becomes a vocal advocate for diversity and trans inclusion within cycling communities across the country.
