Ride Together is a new international database and map of safe, inclusive ride partners for BIPOC, LGBTQ+, female, and other underrepresented cyclists. Learn more about finding or becoming a ride partner here…

Announced earlier this month, Ride Together is a growing international database of cyclists, families, and groups who describe themselves as safe, inclusive ride partners for BIPOC, LGBTQ+, female, and other underrepresented cyclists.

As described by its founder, “If you’re a female, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, or otherwise underrepresented cyclist, you deserve to explore by bicycle as freely as anybody else, without feeling unwelcome, unsafe, or uncertain. We want to help make that happen. Ride Together partners are hundreds of people, families, and organizations across the world who invite underrepresented cyclists to join them for a ride: to explore a new place, to rediscover a familiar one, to make new friends, to challenge yourself, or just to enjoy the outdoors with safe, inclusive companions.”

Find a Riding Partner

As of yesterday, Ride Together has transformed from a simple spreadsheet to a browsable web map, and the list of ride partners is growing rapidly. There’s no need to have an account to browse the map of ride partners or get in touch with them. Just pan around until you find your area of interest and click “Search this Area” in the upper left corner. From there, you’ll see icons representing ride partners, along with their bios and contact details. See it in action here.

Become a Ride Partner

If you’re a cyclist who welcomes female, LGBTQ+, and BIPOC cyclists to join you in exploring the area where you ride, you’re invited to add yourself to the database. Ride Together is especially seeking safe ride partners in rural, conservative, or remote areas that traditionally may not be as welcoming to underrepresented cyclists. To become a ride partner, just fill out the intake form, where you’ll be asked a few questions about who you are, the area where you live, and what you can offer (such as loaner bikes, etc.).
