Tumbleweed just announced that a limited run of Titanium Prospectors is available now via special order. Learn more about the Titanium Prospector and find out how to be one of the first to own one here…

Teased at the MADE bike show in Portland last year, the Titanium Tumbleweed Prospector has been a fantasy of Tumbleweed founder Daniel Molloy for some time now. It’s exciting to see this dream becoming a reality, as the Prospector was Tumblweed’s first model, and last year was also the Prospector’s (and the brand’s) 10th anniversary. The Prospector is Tumbleweed’s flagship expedition mountain touring bike, capable of running multiple drivetrain configurations, offering massive tire clearance (29 x 3.0″ or 27.5 x 3.8″ tires), and enough mounts and cargo space to carry anything you might need for multi-day, week, or month trips.

Aside from a flashy new titanium frame, the Prospector Ti features a slick, machined one-piece titanium yoke rather than the hollow cast steel yoke on the steel version. It provides all the same tire clearances and capabilities as the steel model. On the underside of the yoke is a machined tumbleweed graphic that pays homage to the brand’s original logo. The titanium Prospector weighs about two pounds less than the steel version.

The Titanium Prospector costs $3,600 USD for a frameset with a steel fork. Custom complete builds are also available, including custom wheel builds, which are all built in-house at Tumbleweed headquarters in Boise, Idaho. The Titanium Sunliner, which is also quietly available in limited quantities, costs $3,100 USD for a frameset.

Tumbleweed has a small number of Titanium Prospector frames in stock, as well as a few Titanium Sunliners—but they aren’t on the webstore. Give them a call or email if you’re interested. There will be more stock later this year. Tumbleweed put together a landing page for the limited edition run of titanium frames, which you can find here to learn more.
