The new Veloci No.08 Pick-Up Fork is an interesting all-in-one fork and front rack setup that uses a 20″ wheel and removable front rack to keep loads lower for better cargo-hauling capabilities. Find everything you need to know here…

As far as we know, the Crust Clydesdale Cargo Fork was the first production 20″ cargo conversion fork available, and it has developed something of a cult following. Designed to replace your 400mm axle-to-crown fork, the Clydesdale is a popular option for folks looking to increase their bike’s cargo-hauling prowess. Taiwan-based Veloci Cycles added another option to the mix, with a few key differences that make it look appealing for a modern cargo fork conversion.

The new Veloci No.08 Pick-Up Fork, like the Crust Clydesdale, is a fork/rack combo designed to replace your standard fork. It uses a 20″ wheel to lower the center of gravity and includes a removable integrated front rack, unlike that of the Clydesdale, which is fixed. The No.08 Pick-Up Fork has mounts for fenders and lights, a 1 1/8″ steerer tube, and a 12 x 100mm thru-axle. It has clearance for 20 x 2.4″ tires and uses an IS disc brake mount.

According to Veloci, the No.08 Pick-Up Fork replaces bikes (700c, 650b, or 26″) running forks with a 400mm axle-to-crown and a 70-72° headtube angle. Veloci mentions their Veloci Jimmy, Surly Crosscheck, Long Haul Trucker, Preamble, and others that would work, but countless others would be good candidates too.

From Veloci: “If your fork’s axle-crown length differs from 400mm, expect changes to your bike’s head tube angle, seat tube angle, and bottom bracket height. Typically, for every 10mm deviation in axle-crown length, frame angles adjust by about 1°, and the bottom bracket height shifts by approximately 5mm. Installing the PICK-UP FORK on a bike with an original fork over 400mm will make the angles steeper and lower the bottom bracket. Conversely, angles will become slacker if the original fork is shorter than 400mm, and the bottom bracket will rise.”
