The new Viral Wanderer 32” shares the same specs as the 29″ version we reviewed a few years ago, but it has tweaked geometry to accommodate 32″ wheels. Learn more about the Wanderer 32″ and find pre-order details here…
Viral Bikes is a relatively new bicycle brand, launched in 2016 by owner Steve Domahidy, but it took a few years to finalize its lineup. One thing has always been consistent, though: all of Viral’s bikes are designed around Pinion gearboxes.
Released a few years ago, the Viral Wanderer was Viral’s first drop-bar bike, or more accurately, a drop-bar mountain bike. The frame is loaded with mounting points, it has a massive main triangle, and it can clear up to a 2.4″ tire. In Neil’s review, he praised its comfortable titanium frame, the various provisions for bikepacking, and its unique spring plate that allows the rear end to flex on rough terrain.
The latest Viral release takes everything Steve learned about the Wanderer and tweaks it to work better with 32″ wheels. The Wanderer 32″ shares many of the same specs and design elements as the 29″ version, including a slack-ish 67.5° head tube angle, a long chainstay position of 475mm, and a 108mm bottom bracket drop.
As for sizes, Viral also decided to make the Wanderer 32″ only in V4 and V5 (L and XL), while keeping the 29” wheel versions of both for those who still want them. “We realize that serious bikepackers will be hesitant to jump on a 32-inch wheel with so little tire choices in the wild out there. It could really ruin a day to get a massive sidewall slash and have zero chance of finding a replacement tire.”
The Wanderer 32″ is available with either an ENVE Mountain carbon fork or a Fox 34 SL 80mm travel suspension fork. Pre-orders for the first production run are open now (scheduled for delivery in April 2027), and buyers can choose an anodized color. Pricing starts at $10,295 USD for a complete build with the ENVE fork and Industry Nine wheels. Frame kits aren’t available right now.
