We take a quick tour of the Americas in today’s edition of weekend Snapshot, checking in with readers in Canada, Brazil, and the United States. Head out for a spin with folks in three countries and use our quick submission form to share a photo from one of your recent bikepacking trips here…

Today’s Weekend Snapshot is a kind of Choose Your Own Adventure. Up in the Northern Hemisphere, our readers have been sharing some lovely fall rides with us, complete with the kaleidoscopic colors that make it a highly anticipated time of year. Down in South America, one reader is basking in some entirely different conditions along a picturesque route connecting five Brazilian states. You’re invited to tag along for all three below. Once you’ve had a look, we hope you’ll continue on to dive a little deeper into the archive and use the short form to share a photo from one of your getaways on two wheels.

Quebec, Canada

Weekend Snapshot

By Gabriel B. Houde

It was a long weekend here in Québec, and two friends and I went for a nice overnighter in the Sherbrooke/Coaticook area. The route was 100 kilometres long with 1,350 metres of climbing. We encountered some stunning views and froze our asses off while riding in cold weather. All in all, it was a beautiful weekend!

Sao Paulo, Brazil

Weekend Snapshot

By Alex Gauthier

I’m currently riding the Caminho da Mata Atlântica in Brazil. After I entered the state of São Paulo through the remote dirt roads of the Serra da Bocaina, I went down to the coast. First I stopped in Paraty, a beautifully preserved historic city. And then I biked along the beaches of São Paulo’s Litoral Norte with the green mountains of the Serra do Mar as a backdrop. It’s a delightful change of scenery to finally bike in the sand and fall asleep to the sound of the waves.

Michigan, USA

Weekend Snapshot

By Collin Crane

The Copper Country Century is 100 miles of pedaling through the vibrant Fall colors of the Keweenaw Peninsula. By chance, our plans to do this fell into place, and the trio of us made the journey to the northernmost point in Michigan. “Peak Fall colors” are what everyone is talking about here, and we were lucky to have warm winds and sunny skies to accompany us on a two-wheeled tour of the hues of changing seasons. Highlights of the day include a blueberry pancake sunrise breakfast on Gratiot Lake, elevenses at Slim’s Cafe, tailwinds on M26 (the western coast of the peninsula), expansive views on Brockway Mountain, and ice cream at “The Genny” in Copper Harbor.
