In this morning’s Weekend Snapshot, we follow along with three of our readers as they pedal off on loaded bikepacking trips in Poland, North Carolina, and Italy. Take a quick look at what they were up to during their free time and find a link to share scenes for your weekend rides here…
This installment of Weekend Snapshot once again celebrates all forms of bikepacking from our worldwide community. Today, we head to a hut in Poland’s Beskid Mountains, ride home across Italy, and seek out a quiet camp spot in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Find it all below, then use the form at the bottom of this post to share images from a recent getaway of your own!
Beskid Niski, Poland
By Pawel Dedio (@thediio)
A shot from a winter weekend in the Beskid Niski. Slow cruising on the best gravel roads in Poland. Huts, cooking, and relaxing.
Abruzzo, Italy
By Valerio Stuart (@vale.stuart)
I decided to visit my parents back in Italy, so packed my gravel bike and flew to Abruzzo. From there, I traced a route across some fantastic mountain ranges (readers might be familiar with the Wolf’s Lair and Bikepacking Sibillini routes) in the Abruzzo, Marche, and Umbria regions, before finally getting to Tuscany.
Brevard, North Carolina
By Benjamin Carpenter (@bvcarpenter)
It has been unusually warm in the Asheville area of the Blue Ridge Mountains. So, I decided to free myself from the my desk this past weekend and head out for a weekend overnight in the woods. I camped up near Cove Creek at a spot I’ve been eying for a while. Despite the rain, the camp was stocked with a few pieces of dry firewood from the previous inhabitant. Sunday, I spent the day exploring trails I hadn’t tried before, and it all ended rather nicely after bailing down to The Hub in Brevard and running into Logan Watts and scoring a brew after last call due to the kindness of the staff at The Hub!
Send Us Your Weekend Snapshot
We’ll be selecting three photos per week to feature in Weekend Snapshot. Send yours along for consideration, and if it’s selected, we’ll be in touch! Note: we prefer 3:2 ratio landscape oriented photos.
