In today’s sunny Weekend Snapshot, we spin the globe and land in British Columbia, Italy, and North Carolina to ride trails and enjoy a beautiful night out camping with three folks from our worldwide community of bikepackers. Catch a glimpse of all three and use the short form to share a photo from one of your weekend getaways here…
It’s officially summer here in the Northern Hemisphere, and a trio of readers got out over the weekend to soak in the long days and appreciate the mountains, rivers, and lakes near their homes. Find a peek at loaded bikepacking trips on the Wilson’s Ramble route in North Carolina, a track through the enchanting Val di Sole in Italy, and the lush green and blue of coastal British Columbia below. Once you’ve checked them out, be sure to keep scrolling to find a form you can use to share an image of your own and some links for further reading at the bottom of this post.

Three of us snuck in a quick sub-24-hour campout this weekend to one of my favourite spots just outside of town. We pre-made dinner at home, ate some pastries for breakfast, and even got a lap in at our local downhill riding area on the way to camp.

This weekend, we did a group overnighter in the beautiful Val di Sole, a valley in Trentino, Northern Italy. The group was very mixed and consisted on beginners and experienced riders, all happy to share an adventure with friends.

Friends for 25 years, Richard Rumley and I headed out on our first bikepacking trip, using the Wilson’s Ramble route. Big hills, bears, and picture-perfect Pisgah riding solidified bikepacking as our ideal way to see the world.
Send Us Your Weekend Snapshot
We’ll be selecting three photos per week to feature in Weekend Snapshot. Send yours along for consideration, and if it’s selected, we’ll be in touch! Note: We prefer 3:2 ratio landscape-oriented photos.
