Folks from across our global bikepacking community are once again sharing a little glimpse into their weekend adventures in our 86th edition of Weekend Snapshot. Today, we’re off to the Alps in Austria, a segment of the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route in Wyoming, and a state forest in Washington. Find all three below, then continue scrolling to find a form you can use to share an image from one of your trips plus some related posts for further reading.
Olympic Peninsula, Washington

Two of us did a three-day weekend ride through the Capitol State Forest and other forest lands to the estuary of the Willapa River and then east on the Willapa Hills rail trail to Chehalis. It was blissfully quiet even at the height of summer.
Wyoming

During the first two weeks of August, my brother and nephew and I rode a section of the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route from Jackson, Wyoming, to Boulder, Colorado. After 765 miles and 12 nights, we voted this camp as the best of the trip. Set next to a winding creek in meadows dotted with islands of boulders and sagebrush, we were happy to reach it after 55 miles under our belt for the day. Just before sunset, I clambered up on a pile of boulders above camp and captured this shot, the ruts of Oregon Trail wagons stretching out into the distant peaks of the Wind River Range and a herd of antelope grazing in the green grass.

We’re in the middle of a 15-day bikepacking trip through the Northern Alps. On this day, we cycled along the shore of Plansee and enjoyed every minute of the flowy trail. If it stays as exciting as it has been so far, we will propose it as a new route here on BIKEPACKING.com!
