Today’s edition of Weekend Snapshot showcases reader-submitted rides through mountain environments in three countries. See what folks from around the community were up to in Spain’s Sierra Nevada, British Columbia’s interior, and New Mexico’s Continental Divide Trail here…

We’re rolling into another week with a fresh Weekend Snapshot to highlight what people from our global bikepacking community got up to during their time off. In today’s edition, we zoom in on reader adventures in Spain, Canada, and the United States. Catch a glimpse of all three below, then continue scrolling to find a form you can use to submit a photo from a recent getaway and some related posts for further exploration.

Sierra Nevada, Spain

Weekend Snapshot

As we weren’t selected for Badlands, we decided to ride the route on own two weeks later. We did most of the official route, and this photo was taken near the top of the Pico Veleta. I’ve never seen so many landscapes in one week. Deserts, canyons, forests… I felt like I was riding through the Moroccan Atlas Mountains, Colorado, the Scottish Highlands, or the Alps all at once. New Mexico

Weekend Snapshot

A few weekends ago, I flew in from Atlanta to spend three days on the Northern New Mexico Continental Divide Trail. I enjoyed the great company, majestic views, and complete recharge.

British Columbia, Canada

We rode a four-day loop on the Cariboo Plateau in BC’s interior, starting and finishing from Kelly Lake, west of Clinton. This area is criss-crossed with logging and ranching roads that reward with spectacular views of the Fraser River Canyon. We had gorgeous fall weather with little or no vehicle traffic. The loop was 250 kilometres (155 miles) with a little over 4,000 metres (13,000 feet) of elevation gain. Big climbs and big descents. Water can be a problem in this area, and there’s no opportunity to buy any food, so we were completely self-contained. This is a photo of Janice overlooking the Fraser from the High Bar Road just below Cougar Point.
