The new Rack Buddy from Wilde Bicycle Co. is a simple multi-use bag that’s handmade from waxed canvas and was designed to quickly and easily attach to a wide variety of racks and baskets via four velcro straps. Its versatile design means it can also convert to a tote bag by clipping a shoulder strap to the attached D-rings. It’s a fairly compact bag, measuring 6″ deep by 9.5″ wide and unrolling to a maximum height of 18.5″, which means it’ll fit comfortably inside a Wald 137 basket with room to spare. The Rack Buddy features an internal Cordura liner and a handy external pocket with velcro closure.
Available in either Whiskey or Charcoal, Wilde’s Rack Buddy is made from waxed 7oz sailcloth and will only become more beautiful as it earns patina with age. Made by James from Beard Bags in Minneapolis, the Rack Buddy is priced at just $90, notably lower than similar US-built bags from other small makers.
