Building on the carbon CZR rims they launched last year, WTB is now offering complete carbon CZR wheels in both gravel and mountain bike configurations. Learn more about both here…

WTB launched their brand new carbon CZR rims last year, which they claim are lighter, stronger, and more affordable than the competition. At the time, the CZR rims were available in 23mm and 30mm widths, but they weren’t offered as a complete wheel. Today, WTB announced two complete carbon wheel options based around their CZR rims. Both wheels come specced with WTB’s six-pawl Frequency hubs, which provide a response five-degree freehub engagement, and come with oversized bearing seals for weatherproofing in all conditions. Note that we’ve been testing a pair of these hubs and have been impressed so far.

WTB CZR i23

The CZR i23 wheels are fast and light and designed to maximize compliance on rough gravel roads. WTB thickened the carbon around each spoke bed to improve durability, while minimizing the amount of materials used elsewhere to save weight. All CZR i23 wheels are built with winged Pillar racing spokes that are cold forged into an aerodynamic shape at the trailing end of each spoke. The WTB CZR i23 wheels are available in either 24- or 28-hole spoke configurations, with front wheels starting at 620g and rears at 775g (including tubeless tape, solid strip, and valve).

WTB CZR i30

The WTB CZR i30 wheels feature a fortified carbon layup, reinforced spoke beds, and are hand built using double-butted spokes to, as WTB puts it, “handle it all.” The CZR i30 wheels are 28-hole only, with fronts weighing in at 878g and rears at 1026g. They are only offered with six-bolt rotors, with your choice of Shimano Microspline or SRAM XDR freehubs.
