Last week, Zpacks launched a Pro version of their popular Plex Solo shelter, elevating one of the lightest full-featured one-person tents on the market with user-friendly zippered storm doors, a peak vent, double-L zippers, and magnetic toggles for added comfort, ventilation, and convenience. Made from waterproof, durable Dyneema, the new Zpacks Plex Solo Pro weighs a feathery 373 grams (13.2 ounces) and packs down to a tiny 4″ by 11″ (10 cm x 28 cm), making it easy to integrate into any lightweight bikepacking setup.

The Plex Solo Pro pitches with a single trekking pole, or, more likely for folks traveling by bike, a tent pole, which Zpacks offers in carbon for $39.95. The non-freestanding shelter sets up with a minimum of six stakes (not included), but ten stakes are recommended in windy conditions. Of note, with its tapering 7’0” (2.13-meter) interior length, the Plex Solo Pro is ideally suited only for sleepers up to 6’0” (1.83 meters) tall.

The shelter’s zippered storm doors offer a convenient zipper entry with magnetic toggles and can be rolled up or down independently. Its wide double-L screen doors drape to keep bugs out, and the tall bathtub floor is recessed from the perimeter to reduce splash-up and condensation. A peak vent improves airflow, and an integrated mesh pocket inside offers storage for a headlamp, glasses, a phone, or other small items.

Buyers can choose from three colors (Blue, Olive Drab, and Spruce Green) and two floor options (Lite and Standard). As with all Zpacks gear, the Plex Solo Pro comes with a two-year limited warranty against defects in materials or workmanship. It’s assembled in the United States from domestic and imported components and costs $649.
