Jennride 2022: From the Yorkshire Dales to the Lake District

Filmmaker Barry Godin set out from the Yorkshire Dales to the Lake District in Jennride 2022, a bikepacking event in memory of Jenn Hill. Along the way, he captured some great footage and later put together a video to document the ride. Watch it and learn more about this year’s route around the Lakes District here…

In memory of former Singletrack deputy editor Jenn Hill, Jennride is an annual bikepacking charity event to support St Gemma’s Hospice, a medical and nursing care facility for people with life-threatening illnesses. The ride is organized by Richard Munro, who creates a unique route through the spectacular Lake District every year. Filmmaker Barry Godin is a regular attendee and rides into the Lakes from wherever he can catch an inexpensive train. For 2022, he picked up in Skipton, where he left off during his journey on the Pennie Bridleway and the Great North Trail. Watch the video he put together from the ride and then scroll down to check out the Jenride 2022 route.

Jennride 2022 Route

This year’s Jennride route ventured from Staveley north toward Keswick and Borrowdale. Jennride is a challenging 100-mile, two-day event that it racks up over 15,000 feet (4,600 meters) of climbing, “and Lake District miles are longer than regular miles,” according to Barry.
