Released yesterday, A Day on the Road follows Wiebke Lühmann’s bikepacking adventure from Germany to South Africa. From early mornings to endless pedaling and unexpected encounters to setting up camp under the stars, no two days were the same.
The five-minute video uses a mix of GoPro footage from Liberia, Namibia, and South Africa mixed with drone shots from Germany, Congo, and South Africa and cinematic shots from Namibia and South Africa. It offers an unfiltered glimpse into the beauty, challenges, and freedom of long-distance bicycle travel. Fabienne and Wiebke are working on a full-length movie set to be released in 2026.
“Routine gives me structure, a sense of stability. But when you’re on the road, nothing ever stays the same.”
