After a hiatus, the Revel Big Iron is back and ready for snow, sand, and whatever else you want to throw at it. Learn more about this 27.5 x 4.5″ tire adventure rig here…

Revel Bikes has had a tumultuous few years! Following a production hiatus while the brand underwent changes, it ultimately returned to the hands of founder Adam Miller. I had a call with Adam yesterday, and he said the previous private equity owners weren’t interested in their titanium bike lineup, so he was excited to relaunch it this year. They’ve now gone through two orders of titanium bikes, which include the Tirade, El Jefe, R+, Wayward, TF, and Big Iron, and they’re onto their third, so bringing back titanium was a good move.

The Big Iron has been unavailable for a while, but Revel just received a fresh batch, just in time for cooler temperatures. The Big Iron is Revel’s go-anywhere fat bike. It’s built up around a cold-formed 3-2.5 titanium frame, CNC-machined headtube, bottom bracket, and dropouts, and the biggest 27.5″ tires on the market. It has eyelets for a bolt-on frame bag, two in-triangle bottle mounts, under-downtube bosses, and rear rack mounts. It’s equipped with a threaded bottom bracket, internal cable routing, and sliding UDH dropouts. And with clearance for 27.5 x 4.5″ tires, the Big Iron is made for everything from groomed singletrack rides to multi-day expeditions, or as Revel puts it, “will be your trusty companion on any snow or soft-surface endeavor.”

Currently, the Big Iron is only available to purchase as a frame with no complete build options. It’s priced at $2,499 USD and comes with a lifetime warranty. Like all of Revel’s titanium bikes, it’s hand-built in the same family-owned and operated factory in northern China that’s been used by Why Cycles for a half-decade.
