Long in development and finally available for purchase, the new Allygn Diamond Rear Rack is a compact, versatile companion to the framebuilder-owned brand’s front-mounted Diamond Rack. It’s designed to fit a wide range of bikes and carry lightweight items like dry bags, sleeping bags, and tents. An optional kit facilitates tail light mounting, and Allygn’s Anybolts allow attaching bottle cages, micro panniers, or cargo cages to the rear stays.
The €195 Diamond Rear Rack is constructed in Taiwan from thin-walled 25CrMo4 tubing, includes black zinc-nickel plated stainless steel hardware and aluminum stays, and features internal dynamo light wire routing. The maximum load is 7 kilograms (15.5 pounds), and the platform with uncut struts and hardware weighs 505 grams. It’s only available in black for now, but we’ve seen various colorful special editions of Allygn products over the years and hope to see silver and other options in the future.
