As part of today’s massive product launch from Teravail, they added two fresh flat bars to their bikepacking component lineup. Check out the new Swale and Lytho bars here…
It’s a busy day for Teravail. We already shared a first look and details on their new drop bar, dropper post, drop-bar dropper remote, and bar tape, but there are a bunch more parts we weren’t able to check out. We’re excited to see a new “bikepacking” collection to help organize all of Teravail’s new components, which includes two fresh flat bars. Find details on both below.
Teravail Swale
The new Swale bar uses a forward-first bend that Teravail says is designed to match the overall reach of their Lytho bar but changes the angle of your wrists to add comfort. It’s the most swept-back bar in the launch, at 23°, and comes in 820mm or 780mm widths. It uses a 31.8mm clamp size and is available in either 6061 alloy or carbon. All versions are available with an 18mm or 38mm rise. It’s great to see an extended 31.8mm zone on either side of the stem, which makes mounting devices and bags easier than bars that taper down right away. The carbon version costs $170, and the alloy model costs $55.
Teravail Lytho
The Lytho bar is a touch more neutral than the Swale and Moonstone, but still more relaxed than traditional mountain bike bars. It has an 11° backsweep, a 6° upsweep, and a width of 800mm or 760mm. The carbon version has a 15mm rise, and the 7050-AL and 6061-AL versions have a 20mm rise. All three options use a 31.8mm clamp size. The carbon Lytho costs $150, the SE alloy version costs $65, and the base alloy model costs $40.
