Set to appear in the printed pages of the upcoming 17th issue of The Bikepacking Journal this winter, regular contributor Tom Powell’s The Country I Thought I Knew is a story about going back to his longtime home of New Zealand after many years away and experiencing it from a whole new perspective, despite once thinking he’d seen it all. Bursting with photos from beautiful tracks and trails around the postcard-perfect country, it’s a relatable piece and a moving reminder of the power of finding a fresh appreciation for familiar places.
