After a 3 year hiatus, the Cohutta Cat is back! With the support and collaboration of Northwest Competitive Adventure, this should be the best one yet.

We’re back at the original start and end at Mulberry Gap Adventure Basecamp. From there The Cohutta Cat is a 290-mile figure-8 loop in the mountains North Georgia and Eastern Tennessee. It is designed as a clockwise progression that takes riders through parts of the Pinhoti Trail, past waterfalls in Fort Mountain State Park, around the Cohutta and Big Frog Wildernesses, through singletrack past the Ocoee Whitewater Center, through the adventure town of Blue Ridge, around Lake Blue Ridge, through the Bull and Jake Mountain singletrack complex, past the Appalachian Trail, along the singletrack of Green Mountain and through unrelentingly steep cabin access roads to an amazing singletrack descent back to the finish.

This is not the most rowdy ride in the east. But a hardtail mountain bike is highly recommended. If you enjoy all-terrain exploration on a combination of seldom-ridden unmaintained trails, doubletrack, gravel, a few good stretches of pavement with some epic singletrack stretches mixed in, you’ll love this route. The final total start list will be capped so register today.
