Rally on the Rift is a weekend gathering, group ride, and community-focused adventure, based out of American Falls, Idaho…
Rally on the Rift is a two-part ride and event. You are invited to participate as much or as little as you’d like in this community-focused adventure! This is a great way to experience the magic and lure of the Great Rift, Kings Bowl, and the Idaho Bikepacking Community. Car camp, day ride, grill out, gaze up at the dark sky, and explore around a really cool region of Idaho. Everyone is welcome! However, sign-up is limited to 20 participants.
Many rides and events often end with a lackluster finish – with no one to congratulate, greet, welcome, and high-five you at the end. Out in the Great Rift Backcountry, you’re likely to spend a lot of time in solitude. How great would it be to enjoy the company of others and share in the stories of the past 5 days at the finish? This was the inspiration behind the Great Rift Fun Ride & Campout at the finish.
On Saturday, arrive when you can and welcome the riders as they arrive at Kings Bowl after spending 5 days bikepacking the wild landscape of the Great Rift and Craters of the Moon! Then hang out and listen to the stories from the trail with good food and cold beverages! We’ll camp under the incredible dark sky of the Idaho High Desert.
On Sunday, we’ll head out on a ride from Kings Bowl around 9 or 10 AM for a chill, unloaded group ride exploring the unique terrain around this wild place. Bring water, snacks, & repair kit.
Bikepacking option: (this would be self-led) Park at the Ice Caves Road Trailhead Saturday afternoon/evening and ride 5.5 miles down the 4×4 road to Kings Bowl with your gear, hang out, camp, and then join us for a little 10-mile ride around Kings Bowl before rolling back to your car Sunday morning! If you’re looking for a longer option, Aaron can help. Just ask.
Don’t forget about the Rally on the Rift dirt tour, starting on June 8th. It’s a 5-day community adventure ride and challenge through the present-day Craters of the Moon National Monument & Preserve. Learn more here.
