Following the updated 2025 Salsa Cutthroat announced last month is a fresh Force X0 Eagle AXS Transmission build complete with a dropper post, top-tier components, and a fresh white and gold paint job. Take a closer look here…

Last month, Salsa released the first major update on its popular Cutthroat model in a number of years. The 2025 Salsa Cutthroat moves to SRAM UDH compatibility, has a new fork with a carbon steerer on all models, and features updated abrasion-resistant plates on the fork and frame with a new material, helping protect the frame from mud and debris. The 2025 Salsa Cutthroat still has plenty of mounting options for cages, bags, and other accessories, the frame has clearance for 29 x 2.4″ tires with room for 29 x 3.0″ in the front, and is compatible with both 1x and 2x drivetrains as well as dropper posts.

Salsa debuted the updated Cutthroat with a SRAM Rival GX AXS Transmission build priced at $5,499 USD, and we were curious if a higher-end build option was in the works. This week, Salsa answered with a fresh top-end Force X0 Eagle AXS Transmission build, complete with a new paint job to boot.

2025 Salsa Cutthroat Force Transmission

The 2025 Salsa Cutthroat Force X0 Eagle AXS Transmission build is the top-end Cutthroat. It’s based around the updated frame and fork, the latest 12-speed SRAM X0 Eagle AXS Transmission drivetrain, SRAM Force hydraulic disc brakes, and a 100mm travel TranzX dropper post. A collection of nice parts rounds out the build, including a Salsa Cowchipper Carbon handlebar, carbon WTB Frequency wheels, and 29 x 2.2″ Teravail Sparwood tires. Salsa calls the paint job “white,” but it’s more of an off-white and gold fade to my eyes.
