WTB has added three new saddles to its product lineup, all featuring a custom-tuned flex thanks to WTB’s Fusion Form technology. Learn more about the WTB Solano, Solano SL, and Rocket saddles here…
I’ve always appreciated WTB’s simple yet functional approach to product design and development. I’ve had great luck using their wheels and tires in the past, as they often come specced on stock bikes. The WTB Koda, despite being women-focused, remains one of my all-time favorite saddles for long rides. In my eyes, WTB packs a lot of value into its products, so it’s always exciting to see new products announced. This time around, it’s three brand-new saddles. See the new WTB Solano, Solano SL, and Rocket saddles below.
WTB Solano
WTB describes the Solano as “a high-performance saddle designed for riders who demand superior comfort and support on medium to long rides.” Its Fusion Form construction allows WTB to fine-tune the amount of fiber fused into the nylon of the saddle’s base for a custom flex profile, essentially creating a saddle that matches the intended use. The Solano features 4mm of additional padding under the sit bones and 2mm thicker padding in the middle and nose, providing increased comfort for longer rides—even for those who prefer to ride without a chamois. The Solano is available in medium or wide widths, with your choice of titanium, carbon, or chromoly saddle rails. Read more here.
WTB Solano SL
The Solano SL is designed for riders demanding supreme comfort during shorter, more intense rides. It has less padding and a slimmer overall profile than the Solano, but it has a similar flat profile that’s ideal for riders who tend to rotate their pelvis under high pedaling loads. It has a short 240mm overall length and a full-length channel in the middle of the saddle to reduce perineal pressure. Like the Solano, the Solano SL is available in medium and wide widths but only with carbon or titanium rails. Learn more here.
WTB Rocket
The all-new Rocket saddle is offers unparalleled comfort and support for mountain bikers seeking peak performance on long rides. It features a generous curvature from tip to tail, designed to cradle riders who like to stay planted in the saddle, especially when the trail points uphill. It also has hidden ramp, which WTB calls the “Backstop,” built into the tail of the saddle, providing a supportive surface to brace against during the steepest of climbs. At first glance, the Rocket looks like a saddle I’d be interested in trying for long day rides and bikepacking. It’s available in one width option (medium) and four saddle rail options: titanium, stainless, chromoly, or steel. Check it out here.
All three saddles are priced according to their rail materials: MSRP is $49.95 for steel, $95.95 for Chromoly, $109.95 for stainless, $119.95 for titanium, and $209.95 for carbon. You can find all of WTB’s mountain bike saddles, including the new Solano, Solano SL, and Rocket, at WTB.com.
