With some geometry tweaks and build kit changes, the 2026 Kona Rove has been updated. Fifteen years after its inception, the newest generation looks to blend the race-oriented geometry of the Libre with the off-road capability of the Sutra. There are three new Kona Rove models for 2026, the Rove, Rove AL/DL, and Rove AL, all of which feature more reach and a slightly slacker headtube. Let’s walk through the specifics of each model to see what they have to offer.
2026 Kona Rove
The 2026 Kona Rove keeps its chromoly steel frame and fork but adds stronger hydraulic brakes and a new Shimano CUES 1 x 10-speed drivetrain. The Rove also comes with Kona’s own gravel handlebars, 700 x 40mm Maxxis Ramblers, and thru-axles. With mounts on the fork blades and standard bottle mounts on the inner frame, it looks like a solid option for those looking for a drop-bar gravel bike that can also handle some light bikepacking. Available in a silver-and-blue-accented color, the new Kona Rove is priced at $1,500.

2026 Kona Rove AL
The 2026 Kona Rove AL is the most affordable option in the lineup, and it packs serious value for its $999 price. With an aluminum frame and fork, the Kona Rove AL features a Shimano ESSA 1 x 8-speed groupset with Tektro Mira CX disc brakes, along with Kona’s gravel drop bars and Maxxis tires. It also follows the same general geometry of the steel rove but is tweaked in certain areas for better performance. Though the brakes could use improvement, the new Rove AL seems like a solid starting point for someone on a budget. In 2026, there aren’t too many viable options under $1,000, and this is a standout option in that range.
