Shimano has announced updates and expansions to its GRX and CUES lines, bringing more crank lengths, chainring sizes, and component options. Built for both more aggressive riders and those looking for greater versatility in component choice, explore the details of these groupset updates below…
Shimano has expanded its component offerings for both the GRX and CUES groupsets for 2026. Though the latter is more road-focused, both sets of updates offer valuable options for riders of all kinds. Let’s explore all the updates to see what’s on offer.
2026 Shimano GRX Updates
New 44T and 46T GRX chainrings have been added to Shimano’s existing 40T and 42T offerings. These provide taller gearing options for folks who regularly ride flatter terrain or prioritize top-end speed in race-oriented gravel events. The new chainrings are fully compatible with existing GRX cranksets, including 1x and 2x configurations across both 600- and 800-series GRX groups.
Shimano is also introducing 165mm and 160mm crank arm lengths to the GRX line, expanding fit options alongside existing 170, 172.5, and 175mm lengths. With shorter cranks coming in vogue in the last few years, it’s nice to see a major manufacturer get on board with a trend that could help riders of different proportions get an even better riding experience.

CUES Updates
The CUES updates are more road-focused, as they largely pertain to expanding the groupset options to include a new 2×11 system. The hydraulic group uses the RD-U6040 2×11-speed rear derailleur and a new CS-RS400-11 cassette. The new cassette is built around the company’s Hyperglide system and has a range of 11-36T.
