Berlin’s 8Bar Bikes just announced an updated second version of their versatile steel bikepacking platform, the 8bar TFLSBERG Steel V2, and they say it’s ready for new adventures. Taking its name from Devil’s Mountain, a man-made hill on the edge of Berlin that was home to a U.S. listening station during the Cold War, the TFLSBERG (Teufelsberg) was first announced in the fall of 2021. Today’s refresh includes updated paint, a new non-suspension-corrected steel fork, revised geometry and tube shapes, offset bottle mounts on the downtube, and an integrated seatpost clamp.

The TFLSBERG was designed with long and loaded rides in mind, and it has the most relaxed geometry of any bike in 8Bar’s range. They hilariously call it a beverage oasis as it can hold five standard bottles on the main triangle and another four Anything-style cages on the fork and seat stays. The frame features curved seat stays to add a little flex and prevent your bags from coming into contact with your heels while pedaling. The TFLSBERG V2 can accommodate up to 29 x 2.25″ or 27.5 x 2.8″ tires, and the head tube gusset adds a little extra peace of mind when bouncing along burly terrain. Cables are routed externally, except for the dropper, which sports internal routing.

8Bar offers the TFLSBERG Steel V2 in a flat-bar build, drop-bar build, and as a frameset only. It’s available in small, medium, and large sizes. The standard colors for V2 are a glossy Charcoal and matte Sand, but they can also do custom RAL or Prismatic colors for an added fee. Frame prices start at €630/$685 (plus VAT in the EU), and rigid bikepacking forks come in at €210/$227 and €252/$275 (plus EU VAT) for aluminum and the new steel version, respectively. Complete pricing will vary based on options, and you can use their online configurator to customize your bike and see the final price.
