A lot has happened over the last few days at this year’s Highland Trail 550 in Scotland. The excitement kicked off with a race between Angus Young and Manu Cattrysse earlier this week, who battled for first and second place overall. Angus eventually took the win with an unofficial finish time of 3 days, 7 hours, and 25 minutes, followed by Manu just two hours later. The next four riders to finish all completed the route just under the four-day mark, which is impressive considering the technical terrain riders faced on the route.
On Wednesday morning, Alice Lemkes took first place in the women’s category, finishing the 2023 Highland Trail 550 with an unofficial time of 4 days, 5 hours, 21 minutes. Congratulations, Alice! Although we haven’t heard much about her ride yet, we know she was riding a Sonder Signal Ti with Continental Cross King and Race King tires, full mud guards, the new Restrap Hike-a-Bike Harness, and short 155mm Hope cranks. Around five hours later, Philippa Battye took second place for the women, followed by Jaimi Wilson, Emily Harper, and Annie Le. There are still many riders out on route, so make sure to head over to the event page to follow along live.
