The Tenkara Rod Co. Anytimer Rod Lets You Fish Anytime

Intent on taking the hassle out of keeping a full-size fly rod on hand at all times, Tenkara Rod Co.’s new Anytimer rod is a lightweight, collapsible fly fishing rod that you can bring almost anywhere. The Anytimer collapses to 12 inches and extends to 10 feet in under 30 seconds. According to the brand, it can live in your glove box, backpack, jacket pocket, or desk drawer, and it’s ideal for when you didn’t exactly plan to go fishing, but the opportunity presented itself.

The rod is made in Korea, weighs 1.8 ounces, and features a carbon rod tube. Sold in a variety of pledge packages on Kickstarter, the rod-only option is set at $245, but other complete kits with more add-ons, like wooden line holders, tippets, Tenkara fishing line, and more, actually go for less at $225. At the time of writing, the project has been fully backed on Kickstarter but is still available for purchase.
