Our friend Mikkel from Backwoods Bikepacking set out to find the wildest place near his home in Norway via fatbike and snowshoes. Along the way he captured footage to make a lovely video about the project. Watch “Bikepacking and Snowshoeing to the Wildest Place” here…
Mikkel has been exploring the forests around his home in Norway for years, but he recently wondered where amongst them was the wildest place. To find out, he devised his latest project. “Back in the 90s, I had a few years as a triathlete. Well, my swimming was so poor compared to my cycling and running abilities that I actually enjoyed duathlons more,” Mikkel mentioned. For this adventure, he took on a rather special duathlon involving a fatbike and snowshoes to search out the wildest place in the community where he lives. Watch the video he made about it below…
“Some people might believe that a place is wild if it is inaccessible with steep cliffs and roaring rivers. For others, it might be a Mossy old growth forest…”
