After returning home from the Peaks & Plateaus route scouting trip in Utah last month (find the full route guide linked in the related content grid below), Josh Hicks was itching to get out for more time on the bike. When a window to head out for a sub-24-hour overnighter presented itself, he sent a message to a friend down the road, our own Neil Beltchenko, to ask if he had any recommendations for a quick getaway.

Feeling that same restlessness, Neil offered to join in on the fun as well, and the two of them pedaled out for a mixed-terrain overnighter to Colorado’s Golden Gate Canyon State Park. You can watch a short video from their trip below, followed by a handful of still images from Neil.
