After winning a 2023 Eurobike award for innovation and quality, Bookman Visibility from Sweden just officially announced their new Volume High-Performance Light System. With a distinctive power wheel that offers a quick and intuitive way to operate the light while riding, the Volume’s design is certainly eye-catching. In Bookman’s words, “Adjusting the brightness is as simple as changing the volume on your stereo.” The dial lets users to switch between five power levels, and the top button toggles between flashing and steady modes.
The Volume is available in two models: the Volume 800 and Volume 1500, which feature 800 and 1,500 lumens of output, respectively. The Volume 800 has a 3,200 mAh battery, and the Volume 1500 sports a 4,000 mAh battery. Both are USB-C rechargeable and have replaceable batteries. This is ideal from a bikepacking perspective, as it allows you to extend your ride by swapping out batteries. Runtimes are between 3 and 35 hours, depending on power level and mode.
Both new lights boast an IPX5 water resistance and a beam pattern designed to deliver optimal illumination where it counts. Specifically, they have an elliptical shape that eliminates dark spots, a capped edge that prevents oncoming traffic from being blinded, and side-visibility windows to help you be seen. The Volume 800 is built around a plastic chassis, and the Volume 1500 is machined from aluminum. Both are compatible with Garmin mounts.
The Bookman Volume 800 costs $99 and comes in black, white, and orange. The Bookman Volume 1500 is priced at $149 and comes in black only. Both are available now from BookmanVisibility.com.
