Our 188th Collective Reward giveaway comes thanks to makers Andrew and Katie Strempke of Dispersed Bikepacking in Utah, who will be setting up one lucky winner with their clever and minimal two-in-one Dispersed Handlebar Roll. Find details here…
Late last year, ultra-racers-turned-bag-makers Katie and Andrew Strempke released a fresh take on the classic front roll that features more than meets the eye. Made in their off-grid, solar-powered workshop in Utah’s La Sal Mountains, the Dispersed Handlebar Roll is what they call a “dual bag system designed for efficiency.” It features an outer bag with a built-in pouch and webbing attachments plus a lightweight, seam-sealed inner bag that stuffs into the roll. The result is a simple, no-nonsense system that’s quick and easy to use, making it ideal for racing or ultralight bikepacking. Following Miles’s review earlier this spring, we’re teaming up with Dispersed to give a Handlebar Roll to one randomly selected member of the Bikepacking Collective, a $175 value for our winner.
The Dispersed Handlebar Roll’s outer bag is made from light and strong Ultra, and the inner bag is made from laminated ripstop polyester with Ultra reinforcement fibers. When rolled three times at either end, the inner bag becomes waterproof to keep your precious cargo (think a down bag) dry, and the durable outer bag prolongs its life. The stretchy front pouch is ideal for quick-access items like snacks, gloves, and the like. A daisy chains provides a place to attach a tracker or or small accessories. In his testing, Miles found the Handlebar Roll super easy to pack and stable on the bike, and he praised the convenience of the front pocket—a feature that’s missing on most rolls.
At 18″ wide and with a diameter of 6.5″, Dispersed’s Handlebar Roll offers a 9L volume and weighs 11.5 ounces (325 grams) including both bags, the four included Voile straps, spacer blocks, and paracord headtube attachment. It’s available with a Light Grey, Dark Grey, or Black outer bag, and our winner can choose their color. Find more details over at Dispersed.Bike.
