Curve Cycles has updated its monster gravel bike, the Big Kev, with a new iteration featuring slight geometry tweaks, modern drivetrain updates, dropper routing, and increased tire clearance. The Big Kev V2 will clear a 29 x 2.4″ tire or a 2.6″ with limited mud clearance, features a redesigned 3D-printed yoke, is UDH- and T-Type drivetrain compatible, and has slightly more upright geometry than the V1. The V2 still retains several elements from V1, such as the tubing, front and rear spacing, general handling characteristics, and the 85.5mm BB shell.
The Big Kev V2 also adds their new Ride 415 VGM fork, a carbon gravel fork that can accommodate massive tires and provide cargo-carrying capability. Three M5 mounts on the legs allow users to carry fork-mounted bags or extra bottles, and the fork is rated to carry up to 8 kilograms on each side.
Made from titanium, the V2 offers the same road-style Q-factor as the V1, with design tweaks based on rider feedback and thousands of modeled iterations of their customers’ V1s. Curve says the V2 is built with a larger main triangle than most other 29er options, which allows for more frame bag space, even on smaller sizes. With three bidon mounts, rear rack and fender mounts, and 1x groupset options (boost cranks are not required), Big Kev V2 is a versatile modern gravel bike.
