Published earlier this week, Brendan Collier’s Golden Jackrabbit Route in Southern California offers a unique look at the Jackrabbit Homesteads (recreational cabins) built in the 1950s as a product of the Small Tract Act of 1938. It follows a mix of rugged terrain and smooth gravel roads, starting in Wonder Valley and entering the Dale Mines District before looping back to the start.

Errin Vasquez rode a loop in the routes’ Dale Mines section and put together a short video that does an excellent job of highlighting the terrain and some of the unique forgotten structures you’ll find on the track. It’s an worthwhile watch for anyone considering riding the Golden Jackrabbit Route.
