Element Skateboards and Pelago Bicycles just collaborated on the launch of a new commuter/upright tourer, the Silvo, that features a bold paint job and several practical touches. They also released an apparel collection and a lovely short video showing the Silvo in action on a week of pedaling and skateboarding around Finland. See it all here…
As part of a new capsule collection, Element Skateboards from California and Pelago Bicycles from Finland just released the Silvo, an all-new commuter/upright tourer that looks equal parts practical and fun. As a small brand founded by skateboarders 2009, this collaboration harkens back to Pelago’s roots and continues their mission of making simple and efficient bikes.
The Silvo is made from TIG-welded 4130 chromoly steel and features an eye-popping “camo” paint job and a somewhat unexpected mix of parts, including bullmoose handlebars, a sturdy Commuter Front Rack, a 1×10 Microshift Advent drivetrain, 700 x 45mm WTB Riddler tires, and a double kickstand. It’s available in small (52cm), medium (56cm), and large (60cm) sizes to suit a broad range of riders and is priced at €1,495 ($1,625). It’s unclear how many frames were produced for this collection, but we think numbers are very limited.
To help celebrate the new Element + Pelago Silvo, the brands created this short video, Drifting Clouds, that captures a summer week spent pedaling around the Finnish countryside and hitting some of their favorite skate spots along the way. Watch it below:
The launch also includes an accompanying apparel an accessory line that features lightweight outerwear, a cap, convertible pants, T-shirts, a fanny pack, two skate decks, and a set of skateboard wheels made to look like the Silvo’s wheels, complete with WTB tires. The collection is made from 95% sustainably sourced components.
