Photos, film, and words by Kai Jacobson & Jordan Jacobson
With fully loaded bikes and a 10-month-old along for the ride, we pedaled between ferries and campsites across Pender, Saturna, and Salt Spring Islands. The pace was slower, the climbs steeper, and the packing list much longer than past trips, but the rhythm of moving by bike still shaped the days.
Along the way, we swam in the ocean, rode into the night with string lights draped over the chariot after missed ferry connections, shared camp with owls, and built the trip around Saturna’s 75th Annual Lamb BBQ. This film is a small reflection on how adventure shifts with parenthood and how the effort often makes the simple moments sweeter.
