To celebrate the popularity of its Ferox Carbon and Atlas gravel shoes, and the success of the Team Amani and Black Mamba riders, Fizik has launched two new limited-edition shoe designs with bold colorways inspired by the wildlife of Kenya. The release includes the Ferox Carbon Team Amani shoe and the Atlas Black Mamba. Find details on both below.
Fizik Ferox Carbon Team Amani Shoes
The Ferox Carbon Team Amani shoe features an independently adjustable instep and forefoot via a dual closure system. The large velcro strap, which Fizik calls the “Powerstrap,” holds the foot securely, and the separate BOA dial secures the front of the foot. It has an X1 carbon and rubber outsole with a high stiffness-to-weight ratio, and the exterior is a polyurethane-laminated material layered over a translucent mesh for a breathable, lightweight construction.
The Ferox Carbon Team Amani shoe comes in sizes 36-48 (37 to 47 also in half sizes), weighs around 297 grams/shoe, and costs $309 USD. Learn more at Fizik.com.
Fizik Atlas Black Mamba Shoes
Compared to the Ferox Carbon shoes, the Fizik Atlas Black Mamba is significantly less stiff and more versatile. It uses a single BOA dial closure, a TPU overlay for added protection and ventilation, and Fizik’s X5 outsole with a rubber coating for grip. It has a nylon foot plate for a balanced stiffness while pedaling, giving it a 5 on the stiffness index, compared to the Ferox Carbon’s rating of 10.
The Fizik Atlas Black Mamba shoes are a little heavier than the Ferox at 355 grams/shoe. They come in sizes 36-48 (37 to 47 also in half sizes) and cost $169 USD. See more at Fizik.com.
