The GIGA PUMP Air is a mini pump that weighs less than one ounce. Potentially perfect for ultralight bikepackers and hikers all the same, this aerospace-inspired design is a unique addition to the growing crop of mini pumps. Find details on the Kickstarter here…
New on Kickstarter is an addition to the growing lineup of electronic mini pumps, the GIGA PUMP Air. Inspired by aerospace design, this tiny jet engine-looking inflator weighs just one ounce and can inflate a small sleeping pad in under a minute. Largely designed as a means to inflate bikepacking or hiking equipment, this tiny turbine is powered by whatever external battery bank users bring with them. With claimed hours of use-time on any device that supports 5V/3A output, it’s nice the design runs on an object most people are going to bring on even the most basic overnighter.

Capable of hitting a 3.5kPa of air pressure, the GIGA PUMP Air fills gear at 300L per minute and isn’t solely limited to inflation. With the ability to reverse the flow of air, it can also operate as a vacuum. Not having to tediously roll out a sleeping pad to pack it up might be reason enough to give this product a whirl. Though it doesn’t seem like the nozzle design is amenable for tire-related use, the Kickstarter page speaks to the ability to combine more than one GIGA PUMP Air to increase the speed and power of what you’re inflating. The project has already raised a whopping $267,000 of it’s $5,000 goal on Kickstarter, and you can still grab your own GIGA PUMP Air at what looks to be around $50 USD depending on the bundle you choose.
