I love a good How It’s Made video and always find them captivating, no matter the subject. In fact, the more mundane the topic seems, the better it often is. Having watched my fair share of episodes over the years, I’m surprised to have missed this one on mountain bike tires until today. Though somewhat dated and specific to lower-end Kenda wire-bead tires, it’s an entertaining and quite pleasing five-minute look inside a process most of us have likely never paused to think too much about.

The video starts with an introduction to how mountain bike tires are designed to work, then walks through—with the occasional missing step or detail—the process of transforming raw materials into a finished product. Though it’s ultimately more entertaining than usefully informative, if you like watching machines at work, this one is well worth checking out.
