Industry Nine just introduced its new 100% made in North America carbon mountain wheel lineup with wider rims and more options. Find all the specs and details here…
Joining forces from North Carolina to British Columbia, Industry Nine partnered with Canadian carbon manufacturer We Are One Composites to integrate made-in-Canada carbon rims with USA-made i9 Hydra hubs and aluminum spokes. “Cutting edge carbon meets the ground-breaking Industry Nine Hydra hub,” states i9, ushering in its new range of carbon mountain wheels. The collection includes five new carbon rims in three widths totaling 10 wheelset options within five wheelsets: Ultralite 280, Trail 280, Enduro 315, Grade 315, and Enduro 355. Here are all the details.
Similar to the carbon wheels we reviewed from We Are One, the new i9 rims are hand laid in Kamloops, BC. However, they differ in that each of the new wheels feature Industry Nine exclusive layups, molds, and specs, made to compliment Industry Nine’s straight-pull aluminum spoke and direct-thread hub system. Engineered, manufactured, and assembled entirely in North America, the updated wheels feature rim profiles with thicker bead walls to reduce the risk of pinch fats or damage from impacts, and a shallower rim depth to provide compliance and improved tracking in challenging terrain.
With a complete lineup of ten new carbon mountain wheelset variations, the collection offers a range of options for everything from XC to downhill, and can even be specced with standards for drop-bar rigs—Hydra hubs are available in almost every width standard (see our in depth Hydra review for details). The wheels will also be offered in either 24 or 32 spoke counts depending on the application. Here are the details on each:

Trail 280 (TR280)
The Trail 280 wheelset was conceived as “a gravity-capable wheelset on a diet” for all day, everyday riding. Like the UL280, it’s only available for 29ers, but it comes in either 24 or 32 spoke options.
