Envisioned by Elias Durst of Endless Bikes in Munich, Germany, Lasti is a charming new cargo bike for children ages three to six. Find details on the Kickstarter campaign Elias just launched in hopes of turning it into a reality here…
Endless Bikes owner Elias Durst was inspired to build a pint-sized cargo bike for his young daughter so she could have the autonomy to haul her toys around, and the end product was Lasti Junior, a steel cargo balance bike. Seeing its potential, the maker from Munch, Germany, decided to take the concept a step further, arriving at a lighter aluminum version with 16-inch wheels and the ability to attach cranks, enabling slightly older riders to propel themselves further when they are ready to spin the pedals.
Lasti is designed to suit riders ages three to six and adapt with them as they grow. It has a stable Long-John-style frame, two brakes, a standard handlebar, a cargo platform with space for a 400 x 300mm box, and can accept about a 20-kilogram payload.
Elias is working to turn his dream of seeing mini cargo bikes out in the world into a reality, and he just launched a Kickstarter campaign to help make that possible. To do so, he’s hoping to raise around €45,000 ($48,800) by selling a variety of merch and accessories, as well as early-bird Lasti cargo bikes starting at €1,080 ($1,170).

The Lastis shown here are merely proofs of concept, and the final versions will be rigorously tested in accordance with all applicable standards and laws. You can find complete details about Lasti and help back the campaign over on Kickstarter.
