LOOK has developed a new line of gravel-oriented clipless pedals that use a variety of materials and platform sizes optimized for different styles of dirt riding. For more on these three new pedals, read through all the details below…
With most companies adopting XC pedals for gravel bikes, LOOK has decided to move away from a one-size-fits-all approach and introduce three specific options for different riding styles on dirt. Their new gravel pedal range features three distinct clipless options, each with a variety of materials, platforms, and weights. Let’s explore the specifics of each pedal.
Look X-Track
The X-Track takes its existing platform and repositions it as an entry-level model for those looking to get into universal dirt riding. The brand says the X-Track remains the go-to for the 90% of riders who want a versatile, dual-sided SPD-compatible system. The track comes in three iterations: the standard X-Track, the X-Track Race Carbon, and the X-Track Race, which uses both carbon and titanium internals. The X-Track pedal has a 515mm² contact surface and retails between $60 and $165.
Look X-Venture
The largest of the three pedals, the X-Venture, has two models: X-Venture and X-Venture+. It’s an updated design that LOOK says moves toward bikepacking and adventure, designed to complement the slim, aggressive profiles of modern adventure bikes. The X-Venture+ has a 77mm-wide aluminum body, molded pins, and weighs 190 grams, while the standard X-Venture model is slated to be more durable, with a composite body. The X-Venture has an 84mm wide platform and weighs 200 grams. The X-Venture+ retails for $99, and the standard model retails for $60.
Look X-One-G
The X-One-G is the brand’s new standard for gravel racers. With two models, the X-One-GTI and One-G Max, the pedal is said to fuse the power transfer of a road platform with the durability of an off-road system. The X-One-GTI is the flagship race pedal and has a 53mm titanium axle and a 650mm² contact area, with the entire pedal weighing 120 grams. The X-One-G Max is positioned as their high-durability option, with a machined aluminum body and a chromoly axle, weighing 145 grams. The X-One-GTI retails for $365, and the Max retails for $225.
