GBduro is a 2,000-kilometer bikepacking stage race across Great Britain from Land’s End to John o’Groats on road, gravel, singletrack, and everything in between. As well as being a test of endurance, it’s an event that seeks to put bicycle racing back in touch with its roots, featuring four long stages in an unsupported and self-sufficient format. If you followed our detailed coverage of the 2021 GBduro, you witnessed around-the-world cycling record-setter Mark Beaumont’s surprising win this year—which happened to be his first official race. In The Cycling Podcast’s latest episode of “Explore,” they present Mark’s audio diary, edited with interviews, rider perspectives, and Mark’s thoughts about the ride. Listen below, and revisit our coverage at the Tracker.
