Announced last February, Nemo’s OSMO fabric is made from recycled polyester and nylon yarns and backed with a polyurethane coating for waterproofness. This blend of nylon and polyester isn’t common in tent fabrics, and according to Nemo, it offers the best of worlds fabrics in terms of durability, weight, stretch, and water absorption. This also allows them to avoid using traditional (and potentially harmful) chemical waterproofing coatings like PFCs or PFAS. They kicked things off with the Nemo Dagger OSMO tent and Hornet Elite OSMO, and now we’re happy to see the Dragonfly Bikepack OSMO lineup finally available.

We reviewed the original Dragonfly Bikepack tent here, but if you haven’t read it yet, it’s a free-standing tent loaded with bikepacking-specific features, including compact poles, a roll-top bag for handlebar mounting, a vestibule storage tub, and a subdued appearance. It is offered in one- and two-person variations that weigh in at 2.6 and 3 pounds, respectively.

The new OSMO fabric is said to offer better water repellency, durability, and tear strength, as well as less stretch when wet. It also appears they’ve replaced the basic webbing handlebar straps with grippy TPU-coated compression straps, although the stuff sack is still missing a proper head tube strap to keep it from bouncing around.
