If her name sounds familiar, that’s probably because earlier this year, Nicolette Jones set a new women’s northbound record at the Colorado Trail Race, finishing the 540-mile route in just 4 days and 23 hours. Her FKT came after winning the 2024 women’s Colorado Trail Race, and she’s also hiked it, biked it, and most impressively, skied it. Her 2024 win was her first official bikepacking race. We had a feeling we’d be seeing her name again soon. This year, Nicolette finished as the first woman and new FKT/seventh overall at the Grand Loop. She was also the first woman/19th overall at the 2024 Vapor Trail 125 in Colorado.
At this year’s Arizona Trail Race, she took her position at the front of the pack and refused to back down. She rode fairly close to the top four riders for the first 100 miles, eventually finding her way into fifth place overall as she passed Max Lurie around mile 240. She finished the AZT300 yesterday evening as the first woman/fifth overall, with the next closest woman, Julie Kanagy, around 70 miles back. Her official time was 3 days, 9 hours, and 3 minutes. Congrats, Nicolette!
